• About

Sri is an Ayurvedic herbalist, health educator and yoga teacher in the San Francisco Bay area. In her teen years, she found her true love: yoga. She’s been in a swoon ever since!

    Ayurvedic Herbalism and Natural Therapies

Sri’s interest in traditional healing arts developed naturally from her love of yoga and the awe-inspiring, self-healing response of the human body. She apprenticed in the Berkeley Ayurveda clinic with her teacher Dharmanidhi Tantracharya for five years. There, she studied basic Ayurvedic principles and practices–from herb preparations to diagnostics such as pulse and tongue to therapies such as marma therapy–chiefly with Dharmanidhi and Mike Dick. Prior to that she studied Shiatsu, Thai massage and Tui Na at San Francisco School of Massage with Barry Kapke. Currently, Sri continues her studies of herbalism with Michael Tierra, LAc. Her education about healing using food as medicine is strongly shaped by her studies with Nam Singh and Liu Ming.

    Yoga

A yoga teacher for the past ten years, Sri’s practice is based on traditional, nondual tantric Adi-Yoga, meditation and ritual. She received her first certification at Om Yoga Center in NYC in 2001 and studied Ashtanga, Vinyasa and Iyengar with various teachers. Then, Sri started studying yoga with Dharmanidhi in 2003 as part of Advanced Yoga studies, received her first teaching certificate from him at Yoga Mandala in 2004, trained in Yoga Therapy and went on to become a Certified Adi-Yoga instructor in 2010. Textual study has also been an important part of her training, including Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Siva Sutras, Yoga Sutras and sections of Yoga Rahasya.
